Reviews / July 18, 2018

“The Ability to feel is a strength, not a weakness” Title: An Enchantment of Ravens Author: Margaret Rogerson Published: September 26, 2017 Medium: Print (hardcover) Pages: 304 Genre: Fantasy, Romance   Rating: Summary: A prodigy painter names Isobel paints for faeries, the most dangerous and vain creatures in the land of Whimsy. Faeries crave human creations and pay for them in enchantments, many of which are poorly worded and cause chaos instead of their intended effect. Isobel is careful though, with all of her dealing with the Fae. That is, until she meets Rook, the prince of the Autumnlands. As she holds her painting sessions with Rook, she begins to feel something for him. Now, in love with a faerie prince, she is dragged off into faerie because she painted him in a way that has put his life in jeopardy. While in the faerie lands, she discovers a power within herself and her work and must fight her way back home. Thoughts: I truly enjoyed this book! It was a quick read with a really cute story. Faeries happen to be one of my favorite topics to read about, so I love seeing their lore integrated into popular games, books,…

My Experience at BookCon 2018
Events / June 4, 2018

I have been dying to go to BookCon for years! I heard about it in 2014 but I was always working, busy, or unable to go for any number of other reasons. This year, though, some wonderful people bought some tickets for my friend and I to go (as she has also been wanting to go for years). Words cannot express how excited I was to go to this convention. I worked it up so much in my head – starting way back in March when I found out I was going – that I was worried I would be disappointed. Thankfully, I was not. Walking into the Javits Center in New York City and seeing all the people and the big “Welcome to BookCon” sign was oddly emotional for me. That emotional-ness stuck with me through most of my first day at the convention as I attended panels and listened to authors talk about their books and their lives. We started Day 1 of BookCon with a writing workshop presented by the MFA Writing department at Sarah Lawrence College. As much as I love workshops and writing, I am always worried about what I am going to get…

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery – An Overview
Applications , General Discussion / May 31, 2018

***BEWARE: POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD*** Jam City, together with Portkey Games, released the new Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery app a little over a month ago, on April 25. I downloaded the app fairly early on and have been playing pretty consistently since then. Considering the new update that launched yesterday, May 30th, I thought I would give my views on the app. The game is set before Harry’s time at Hogwarts and features many familiar faces, including your favorite professors, some friends, and even a dog. It follows the player character through their years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as they learn spells, duel enemies, attend classes, and much more! Game play starts out simple enough: you choose a basic look for your character. Unfortunately, customization options are extremely limited at the start of this game. As is common with many apps, you need to progress and level up to unlock more options and these options cost either gems or coins to purchase. Some of the clothing choices cost quite a bit in this game. Even simple clothing cost several thousand coins or up to 200 gems and if you wish for your character to wear glasses, that’s going…

Hello Everyone!! I am sorry to say that, due to a few mix ups, this site is currently undergoing some re-construction. I will be posting some updates on the Just1MoreChapter facebook page as I make progress. Unfortunately, everything that used to be on the site (all posts, images, etc.) has been lost. In the future I will be much better with my backups! So please just bear with me as I get everything back up and running! Thank you for your patients, and please wish me luck!
